The process
How a patio cleaning actually goes
Every patio gets the same five steps, and the order is the point: chemistry first, pressure last, so the surface never takes more force than it needs.
- Material check. Concrete, pavers, travertine, flagstone, slate, or porcelain: the material sets the PSI, the nozzle, and the detergent before anything gets wet.
- Pre-treatment. Stains and organic growth get a targeted pre-treatment with the right dwell time, which is what actually breaks them down.
- The wash. Broad areas get an even, consistent clean; delicate stone stays at lower, surface-safe pressure.
- Edge detailing. Edges, corners, and the shaded strips along walls get finished by hand-guided passes so the patio reads even, not striped.
- Post-treatment and rinse-down. A post-treatment slows regrowth, then everything rinses clean, including the mess we made getting there.
Joint sand stays put, and if you plan to seal the surface afterward, it is left ready for that.
